Audio for Film
Recording
On set, I can fulfill both recordist and sound mixer roles. With boom operating skill and experience, I can capture high quality dialogue and ambience, including timecode. My equipment is listed here.
Post-Mixing
With many years of experience, I am able to professionally mix your film project with precision and attention to detail. I use Pro Tools primarily, but am flexible depending on your project.
As the sound recordist on this short comedy sketch, shot on a windy rooftop in Brooklyn, I was responsible for capturing clean dialogue and ambient sound under challenging weather conditions. The open-air location presented significant wind interference, requiring real-time adjustments to mic placement and angle selection. I strategically positioned directional microphones and employed wind protection techniques to preserve audio clarity without compromising the performers’ movement or comedic timing. This project demonstrates my ability to adapt quickly, troubleshoot on the fly, and deliver high-quality sound in uncontrolled environments.
What People Burn to Stay Warm
Brought on during post-production, I handled the full audio mix for this short film after principal photography had wrapped. Due to various on-set challenges, much of the production audio required extensive cleanup, restoration, and creative mixing to salvage and elevate the sound quality. In addition to mixing dialogue, sound design, and effects, I also composed and produced the original score, shaping the film’s emotional tone and sonic identity. This project showcases my ability to rescue compromised audio and craft a cohesive soundscape from challenging source material.
